ZC: Good Luck & One Time Beats Showtime!

Wed., June 29th @ 9:30 PM Eastern.
What the Luck?

Stream the podcast here!

Indy QB, Andrew Luck, scores the highest paid contract in NFL history! $87m guaranteed which is $21m over the 2nd highest guaranteed money over the contracts of Eli Manning and Philip Rivers. Eli is the only one who has Super Bowl hardware. The other two haven't sniffed a SB.

Are the Colts out of their mind to give this much dough to a QB who's career numbers include 9 TDs and 12 INTs in the post season?

Also on the show, Keith "One Time" Thurman couldn't knock out Shawn "Showtime" Porter, but the two of them put up a heck of a fight last Saturday night on CBS.

What does it mean for each of them? What does it mean for the weight division they're in?

All of this and more as Zone Coverage returns to T2Q! "Talk sports from the couch!"

Talk 2 Author, Tommy Mabry!

Tommie Mabry lives by the words, “I cannot walk in my future with my foot in my past."

Stream the show here!
Tue., June 28th @ 9 PM Eastern.

Mabry, 28, grew up in midtown, or what the locals call Northend, a neighborhood in Jackson that he says was not necessarily the easiest neighborhood to grow up in.

“I have lived a life that’s beyond 28,” Mabry says. “The average 28-year-old hasn’t lived close to how much I have been through. … I come from the 'hood, I come from poverty. No one from my family finished high school. ... I don’t have a family member before me to ever finish college.”

Growing up with no one to serve as a model for mainstream success, Mabry turned to life in the underground economy and ardently abided by the code of the street. Mabry was expelled from seven elementary schools and three middle schools in the Jackson Public Schools district, and by age 11, he was serving time for burglary and began getting his first tattoos as early as the 5th grade.

Tonight, I'll talk to him about how he turned his life around and went from a bad example to a role model.  You'll have the chance to talk to him as well by dialing (347) 202-0215.

#T2Q 6.21.16 - An Undocumented Valedictorian & Affirmative Action

Tue., June 21st @ 9 PM Eastern.
Should an undocumented valedictorian be deported?

Stream the show here!

In Austin, TX, a valedictorian made a stunning admission that has rubbed very many people the wrong way.  Mayte Lara, a 17 year old, 4.5 GPA student with a free ride to Univ. of Texas, revealed that she's undocumented in a tweet.  She said that she did so to show that you can succeed regardless of barriers, but now people are up in arms over the situation.

She has since deleted her Twitter account after stating that she didn't anticipate the backlash that she's received.

Should she be deported?
Should her scholarship be revoked?
Or should we just say, "you got me" and allow her to live the American dream?

The march on Washington was over 50 years ago.  So much progress has been made towards equality since then.  At what point is Affirmative Action not needed?  How close to the end of AA are we or will we always need it?

The NBA Finals will go to a Game 6. Draymond Green let his team down by getting suspended for his sometimes overly aggressive style of play. But what in the world is Steph Curry doing? He hasn't been dominant at any part of the series. If not for Klay Thompson, Cleveland may be the team up 3-2.

#T2Q 6.14.16 - Another Shooting That Politicians Will Ignore

Tue., Jun. 14th @ 9 PM Eastern.
Another shooting.  What now?

Stream the show here!

This weekend, there was another mass shooting in the U.S. Orlando was hit hard twice this weekend by shooters. Voice singer, Christina Grimmie, was shot in killed in Orlando by what some describe as a deranged fan.

And the biggest news of the weekend was some idiot, who will remain nameless, who shot up a nightclub and killed 50 people.

What will be the end result of this? Absolutely nothing. A lot of talking and nothing done. The White House will regurgitate the usual rhetoric. The talking heads on news TV will trot out their "experts" to argue over the next week. Yet nothing will be done to stop automatic weapons from being sold to anyone who wants one.

And where are the stories about the shootings that occur in Chicago on the daily basis?

These things and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."

#T2Q Celebrates the Life of Muhammad Ali

Wed., Jun. 8th @ 9 PM Eastern.
My first "favorite athlete", Muhammad Ali, is dead at the age of 74 years old.

Stream the show here!

There aren't many men like Ali being produced in this country any more. Now, don't get me wrong. He had his issues when it came to his wives. He wasn't perfect. But he did more for this country than anyone who may have stepped foot on the White House lawn in the past 50 years.

People who don't know the man think that he was "The Greatest" because of what he did inside the boxing ring. No. Ali was "The Greatest" for what he did outside of the boxing ring. Ali inspired the world with his approach to day-to-day living. He was a motivational speaker. He was a civil rights activist. He was an entertainer.

Tonight, I welcome on The Young Brothers to discuss Ali with me and my Show Legends. We'll talk about his impact inside and outside of the ring as Zone Coverage returns to T2Q! "Talk sports from the couch."

LeBron or Steph?

Stream the show here!

Well, after what seems like forever since the regular season ended, the NBA Finals are about to kick off. After all of the dust cleared, LeBron and his Cavaliers are back in Oakland to battle Steph Curry and his record-setting Warriors.

This year will be different than last year. Kevin Love is healthy and so is Kyrie Irving. Can they stay healthy throughout the Finals? Let's hope so. We want to see an even matchup.

As for Golden State, did the 3-1 come from behind finish wear them out? Are they ripe for Cleveland to pick and for LeBron to bring the city its first major title in decades?

We'll discuss that and more as Zone Coverage returns to T2Q! "Talk sports from the couch!"
