The Sandra Bland Incident, Session Two

Stream the show here

The Sandra Bland incident has garnered so much attention over the past week or so that I decided to reach out to some ladies. I wanted to get their opinions as women who now live in a world where they no longer get the respect/protection they once received.

I broke this show down into two categories: I wanted to get the ladies' perspectives on how/if Sandra Bland could have handled things differently. I also wanted to see what they felt the arresting office could have done differently to de-escalate the situation if at all possible.

I'm joined by Lady T from New Orleans and first-timer, GiGi' from South Carolina.

#T2Q Hits Show Number 500!

7/29/15 at 10 PM Eastern
Stream the show here!

It's hard to believe that after 4 years, 5 months, and 9 days that I've reached episode #500! What started off as a 10 minute rant on relationships in episode 1 has turned into my own personal legacy.

For the 500th time, I will reach out to the world and mix it up with some of the most intelligent and entertaining callers in talk show history.

I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out "how in the world can I celebrate Show No. 500?" It's so much trouble trying to reach out to have guests from the past call, so I decided against that. I'm sure that those who still follow the show and have the time will call to say "hello," I decided to do something different.

Tonight, my Show Legends and I will play T2Q Trivia! Not only will they get questions about the history of the show, but they will also answer questions about certain events and pop culture happenings. I'll be giving away T2Q paraphanalia to boot as #500 is finally here!

4 Reasons Why You Should and Should Not Date Coworkers

Stream the show here!
7/28/15 at 10 PM Eastern

You're on the job and you just get settled at your desk. You look up as a new hire walks into the building for the first time and this person is the finest person you've ever seen. They wind up sitting next to you and you can't stop staring. At that point, you have a decision to make: do I try to get to know this person as a coworker or do I try to get to know this person on a more personal level?

Thousands of people around the country struggle with this decision daily.

On tonight's show, I'm going to throw out 4 reasons why it could benefit you to date a coworker. I've actually done it successfully and I can share my tips on how I made it work. I will also give 4 reasons against why a person should date a coworker.

The last place to have "Fatal Attraction" moments is the place where you make your rent money.

This and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."

Your Mouth Makes You Ugly, Part I

Stream the show here

** UPDATE **

This show eventually turned into a heated discussion on Sandra Bland and police brutality/killings.  Two rival callers (from some other show) had it out with each other (and Ray).  Some great points were made as the phone lines lit up to talk about "black responsibility."

There's nothing more irritating than someone who can't control their mouth. Whether it's a nasty attitude, taking opportunities to hate on someone, or just plain being disrespectful, it makes you just want blow a gasket. Why is it that some people don't realize that their mouth makes them ugly?

The things some people say have consequences yet they don't realize it. Or they realize it and just don't care. An uncontrolled mouth can cost a person their job, their mate, their friends/family, and a hospital bill if they pop off to the "wrong one."

Why do we allow ourselves to get emotional to the point of stupidity and regret? Society also promotes having your tongue throw you in jail with reality TV and YouTube videos of mindless confrontations.

Tonight, the Show Legends and I will talk about how the tongue is the strongest muscle in the body.

Women Are Their Own Worst Enemies

Stream the show here!

James Brown once sung a tune called "It's A Man's World."  However, he also said that "it wouldn't be nothing without a woman or a girl."  So, who exactly is running things then?

Women.

More so than ever now.  They hold all of the power in dating.  Yet we guys are still getting over.  There are still plenty of guys out there who talk a good game and reap the benefits of it.  There isn't a shortage of guys in society with multiple sex partners who are unaware that they're sharing a body.

What makes it so easy for the fellas?  Well, the women do.  Through being envious and competitive, they pave the way for those type of guys to do what they do.  Should all guys respect women enough to not do it?  Absolutely.  However, all women should have enough respect for themselves and their sisters to not allow it to happen, right?

We'll discuss that and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!  "No experts.  Just opinions."

Please Believe Actions, Not Words!

Stream the show here

This is something everyone gets caught up in at times. We shouldn't feel badly when it happens to us because it's human nature to think with our hearts instead of our heads. However, there's a chance that we can ultimately make the best decisions for our hearts if we learn to focus on actions instead of words.

Easier said than done, right?

People woo us with their promises and compliments all of the time while their actions show the complete opposite. On the flip side, some people tell us they don't like or care for us yet their actions show otherwise.

On tonight's show, I'll run some items by my Show Legends so that we can let the listeners know what they can do in order to stay focused on actions instead of words.

All of this and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."

Are We Just Social Media Copycats?

Stream the show here

Social media makes us stupid. I can't put it any more clearly than that. Sure, it's entertaining to those who already have a foundation in common sense, but let's face it, that's a minority.

So, what happens when you mix social media channels with people who do not have common sense? Crazy stunts that result in serious injuries if not death, mixed signals in relationships, political statements, and a community full of trolls and douches for lack of better terms.

On tonight's show, we'll discuss all three of these types of people and some examples of how they're making America a worse place to live.

Do We (Unintentionally) Teach Kids to Lie?

Wed., July 8th @ 10 PM EDT

Stream the podcast here!

Kids are very instinctive. They're smarter than a lot of adults give them credit for. They pick up on things easily and learn how to manipulate at a very young age. They learn that when they cry that you will pick them up. Or if they throw a tantrum that you will buy them a toy. That comes natural to them. Another thing that comes natural to children is lying. They learn to do so to avoid consequences to something they may have done wrong. They will tell you they didn't break a vase to avoid punishment without any though to logically explaining how it wasn't their fault.

Our response as (good) parents is to discpline the child for lying. However, we sometimes contradict ourselves by using a term that is called "a white lie." That basically insinuates that the lie being told isn't that bad or is somehow done for the greater good of a situation. An example is going to an all-you-can-eat buffet where kids under 10 eat free. You tell your 11 year old that "if anyone asks, you're 9 years old tonight." It benefits your wallet, but what does it do for the child?

We'll discuss that and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."

Now Ladies Have The #Power

Tues., July 7th @ 10 PM EDT

Stream the podcast here!

(Way) Back in the day, let's say the early 60's, guys could call the shots. Guys were the bread winners so that afforded them some luxuries when it came to mate selection. A lot of guys had the ability to choose exactly what they wanted in a mate because at the time women were looking for security. They wanted a man who could pay the bills and be a provider.

Fast forward to 2015 and the roles have completely changed. Guys are no longer sole providers of households. In fact, guys are rarely providers of households in a lot of communities across the country. Ladies have gotten educated and have started making money and support themselves. The result: now they are the ones making the mate selection.

Gone are the days when a woman only cared about security. Now that she has her own, she can do what the guys once did exclusively: she can pick and choose as she pleases. How does this affect dating in modern day society? With guys looking for security and women looking for eye candy, can the role reversal be effective?

We'll discuss that and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."
