What Women Think Vol. 1: Dating Single Parents

It's a platform for women to speak freely without male interruption.

Part I (30 mins)
Part III (37 mins)

This podcast series is a follow-up to the controversial show we had back on May 21, 2020 called How To Date A Single Parent.

For the men, Don't take the panel's opinions personally or feel attacked. This is an opportunity for men to understand what's going on in a woman's mind. You may not like how the message is delivered, but it doesn't mean that you should ignore the message.

For the women, this is a chance for you to hear stories from ladies who have suffered through some of the trials and tribulations of dating "baby daddies" (and/or dating as a single mom). This can help you recognize certain clues within someone that will help you navigate through the wrong dating candidates and help you find your ideal mate.

This series will continue in the future on different topics. I allowed the ladies to speak freely and get everything they wanted to say out on this podcast, but I look to add more structure going forward.

Participants: Angel Charmaine, Ashley D., Crystal, Erica, LaShonda, and Tasha.

Q-on-1 w/Actor & Wrtier, Charli Marie

Charli Marie is a screenwriter, a social media coordinator, and a script supervisor, but her main love and focus is acting! She has lived in several different states, but California will always be her home.

Listen on your favorite podcasting platform here.

Duration: 20 minutes.

Her main goal in film-making and in being a creative is to spread love to the rest of the world through human connection and empathy. "We give our audience the freedom to empathize with our characters no matter how 'good' or 'evil' they may seem. And as our audience falls in love or disdain with our characters, we can change the world. One human connection at a time, our audiences feel free to emotionally engage more deeply and effectively with those around them." - from Charli-Marie.com

I have a discussion with her about the ins and outs of the film industry and the many roles that she takes on in order to be successful in film.  What does a script supervisor do?  Do you have to be an author to be a screenwriter?

This and more on this Q-on-1 edition of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show.

Listen on your favorite podcasting platform here.

Duration: 87 minutes.

There are so many people in the world who just don't believe in themselves like they should. Why is that? What prevents a person from being certain that their skill set is enough to get whatever the task at hand is done? Is it a traumatizing experience from their past? Is it a track record of a lack of success that leads them to believe that they have to have reassurance on everything in order to feel good about themselves?

Not having confidence can hurt people in a variety of ways from the workplace to the bedroom. My Show Legends and callers will tackle this topic and give you more insight on building up yourself so that you can be assured that you're doing a good job in whatever you do!

Q-on-1 w/Singer, Alanna Mosley

I chat with singer/musician, Alanna Mosley!

Listen on your favorite podcasting platform here.

Duration: 21 minutes.

I first heard her play back in early 2019 at a small bar. It was just across the street from the B.B. King Museum in Indianola, Mississippi. She was a solo act, but her guitar and voice filled the room with a very warm sound.

Alanna Mosley hails from the Mississippi Delta where the musical gene appears to be nested within all of its natives. She plays her own original songs and a wide variety of cover music that spans the musical spectrum--and always puts her own unique spin on things.

After living for some time in Charlotte, NC, she has moved back to the Mississippi where you can find her playing all over the southeast. Her and I discussed how she got started into music and what the day-to-day hustle is like traveling and performing.

And be sure to check out her cover of the song, "Someday" by 3x Grammy winner, Steve Earle towards the end of the podcast.

Be sure to check her out at www.AlannaMosley.com and watch her on FB Live as she does her Quarantunes on Saturday evenings..

Q-on-1 w/Podcaster, Aaron Bull

I'm joined by the host of the Beacon of Truth podcast, Ms. Aaron Bull!

Duration: 31 minutes.

The Beacon of Truth is a podcast that allows the listeners to get opinions that are not swayed by public opinion or trendy think tanks.

Aaron and I talk about the never-ending news stories involving police brutality and racism. There appears to be a new story every other day about someone dying at the hands of a person sworn to protect them. I ask her about what the fallout has been in the ATL area where she resides.

On a lighter note, we also talk football! It's one of my favorite sports and hers as well. We chat about women in sports and if they're being taking seriously or not. Are they just eye candy or do they really have the knowledge to participate on the pregame shows.

All of this and more on this new episode of the Q-on-1 podcast on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!

I Participated On The Rational Female Podcast #T2Q #TBT

The Rational Female podcast is a show where the host speaks to every day men to get their unfiltered takes on things like: dating, marriage, feminism, family, etc., trying to bring to light facts that contribute toward this current divide between the sexes in hopes that more people will wake up.

Listen to Part I here.
Listen to Part II here.
(Originally aired on March 2019.)

I definitely enjoyed my time spent recording this podcast with the host and her other guest (whose voice you will recognize from my show).  We discussed why some guys may be avoiding single mothers for long-term relationships.  We also talk about how single parenthood is being normalized just as marriage once was.  And we get into a topic that we recently discussed on my show: "what is a real man?"

You can check out more of The Rational Female podcast here.  I had a lot of fun doing this podcast and I look forward to having The Rational Female on my show in the near future!  Have a listen and enjoy!

Q-on-1 w/Podcaster, Kim Paczynski

I wanted to post a recent interview that discusses the social injustices we witness on a regular basis in society (recorded on May 15th, 2020, prior to the George Floyd murder) .

Duration: 36 minutes.

Kim Paczynski is a podcaster who is relatively new to the scene, but is making her mark pretty quick.  Her show, the One Non-Blonde Podcast, is a space she has created in order to invite people in to see what's going on in their lives.  Sometimes it's about events or achievements happening to them personally and other times, it's to get their perspective on things going on in the world.

I was thrilled to engage with her about the social injustices we're seeing across the U.S.  I have tons of conversations about the subject with people of color, which is like preaching to the choir, but what is it like to have those same conversations with a white person?

I ask Kim how she feels about racial inequality and exactly what kind of conversations do white people have with one another behind closed doors.  How does she talk to her children about inequality?

It was an interesting interview and to be honest, I only scratched the surface in the conversation as this occurred prior to George Floyd's unfortunate death and the riots that happened afterwards.  There are many more questions to be asked.

Take a listen and let me know what opportunities may have been missed and can be possibly addressed in the future.

Convo w/Kevo: Racism

Photo credit to Keith King (Revolution Images).
No theme song. No introduction. Just me and a guest with something to say. The Dave Chappelle "8:46" special on YouTube was one of the better videos I've seen in quite some time. I think that he did a great job of hitting so many points about the George Floyd murder and racism in America.

Duration: 41 minutes.

I wanted to have a conversation about the show and racism in America, so I chose a white guy to join me. White people SHOULD NOT feel guilty for being white. I only hold the ones who don't listen accountable for some of the inequality experienced in this country by minorities. I have someone on this podcast who does believe that "black lives matter" and he wants to discuss racism today.

Kevin Young.

I'll ask him why he agrees with that. He lives in upstate New York and he firmly believes that some changes need to be made in society to truly bring about equality.

This won't be an interview, but instead, a conversation. I'll also give my personal opinion on things in this podcast from a black perspective.

I hope that this podcast is well-received by those who need to hear it and I would love for you to share this as often as you can across social media platforms.

Q-on-1 w/Actor, Sean Kanan

I have a talk with actor/writer, Sean Kanan, of the Prime Video series, Studio City.

Duration: 23 minutes.

Listen here.

You've seen him at the movies in films like Karate Kid III where he played bad guy, Mike Barnes, and on TV when he played the role of A.J. Quartermaine on the long-running daytime soap, General Hospital.  Now he's the creator, writer, and star of a series called Studio City

Sean and I discuss how his career got started and how he got the role in Karate Kid III.  We will also talk about what the daily grind was like to be on a soap opera that released five episodes a week all year long.

We talk about Season 1 of Studio City and his plans for the show going forward into Season 2 as well as his invitation to be this year's host of the 11th Annual Indie Series Awards Show coming June 18th.  Studio City was nominated for 12 awards.

These things and more on this Q-on-1 edition of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!

Friends: How Many Of Us Have Them? Show #800!

Submitted by Ericka Brown.
What started as a one-hitter-quitter bucket list item has turned into 800 podcast episodes!

Duration: 92 minutes.

Never in my wildest imagination did I think that I would hit 8 shows, yet alone 800. Since 2011, I have amassed over 2,000 hours of content and I still have gas in the tank for more!

I'm thankful for each and every one of you who has contributed by participating or just listening to my show. You are the ones who make the magic happen.

On this show, we're going to be discussing friendship: what's real and what's not?

So many of us throw around the word "friend" very loosely. We seem to think that almost everyone is our friend until we find ourselves in a situation that makes us feel betrayed. That's when we realize that that person really wasn't our friend in the first place.

We'll get into that on this episode! the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."

Q-on-1 with Author, Neil Perry Gordon

I have a chat with a talented author of historical fiction, who has quite a few books for you to enjoy, Mr. Neil Perry Gordon!

Duration: 26 minutes.

His creative writing methods and inspiration have been described as organic; meaning that he works with a general storyline for his characters and plot, rather than with a formal, detailed outline. This encourages his writing to offer surprising twists and unexpected outcomes, which readers have celebrated.

His novels also have the attributes of being driven by an equal balance between character development, and face-paced action scenes, which moves the stories along at a swift page-turning pace. (from www.NeilPerryGordon.com)

His newest book, Hope City, is the first in a series about a man named Percy Hope and his late-1800 Alaskan adventures.  It releases on 6/20/20 and we'll discuss it as well as some of his other work on this Q-on-1 podcast edition of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!

Confronting Racism

No theme song. No introduction. No callers.  Just me with something to say.

Duration: 12 minutes.

First of all, white people... DO NOT FEEL GUILTY FOR BEING WHITE.  People should only feel guilty for not listening and thinking that status quo is working.  It's not.  Not even close.  This podcast is about doing something different.

Those who have listened to the Talk 2 Q Radio Show over the past decade know that I don't always give my opinions on the show. I choose just to be a moderator and allow others to voice their perspectives. That's why I named the show, "Talk 2 Q" instead of "Listen to Q".

But, I had to get back on my soap box and get some things off of my chest, so I recorded something. There's no format to this podcast. It's just me discussing my opinion about the recent events that have occurred in this country regarding black people who were slain. Every week, there's a new story about a black man shot. It's not always a police shooting. Sometimes citizens shoot black people, too.

I feel so badly for those who have this happen to a family member unjustly. I don't even care if the person is innocent or guilty. They are allowed their day in court. At that point, let the jury decide his or her fate. Don't let someone make that decision it on the street.

Anyway, I'll just let you listen and I hope that you feel compelled to provide feedback on this. By no means am I coming down on white people in this podcast because all white people aren't racist. But I am pointing out those who appear to be contributing to the problem moreso than helping resolve it. As you can see, black people are struggling to fix it. We try peacefully and get our heads cracked. We get rowdy and get our heads cracked.

So, how do we confront racism?

Q-on-1 w/Author, Crystal Hickerson

It was an absolute pleasure to have a chat with author, show host, and Show Legend, Crystal Hickerson! We talked about her book, "Wanted", a supernatural thriller about love, life, death, and the in-between.

Duration: 24 minutes.

Cailyn Roberts survived a brutal attack that left her 11 year old daughter dead and herself in a coma. When she awoke her world was shattered. With nothing left she searched for a reason to live, she found it, vengeance. When your soul is empty, darkness finds a great place to live. "Wanted" is the new novel from the mind of Crystal Hickerson waiting to get out, however there are some doors that should never be opened. Do you dare?

I was also able to pick her brain about the authors who have inspired her over the years as well as her future endeavors. With four books under her belt, number five may arrive before the end of 2020!

Enjoy this Q-on-1 with Crystal on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!
