"Super Engineer," Ira Parker |

I've talked about Hip-Hop on my show numerous times and I've criticized modern artists very heavily. One of the main criticisms that I have is that a lot of today's artists don't appear to have a background in music. In my personal opinion, in order to produce the best sound, you have to have a taste for good music. That includes having an ear for different genres.
How can one excel in creating a unique, new sound in Hip-Hop if all you've ever listened to in your life is Hip-Hop? Where are the influences like Run DMC had with Aerosmith, Public Enemy had with Anthrax, or Ice-T had with Curtis Mayfield?
Well, my guest on this show understands the importance of having an ear for all kinds of music. Ira Parker, music producer and engineer, has dabbled in Jazz, Classical, Country, and Pop as well as R&B and Hip-Hop. He has engineered or mixed artists like Treach, from Naughty By Nature, Waka Flocka Flame, Slim from 112, Lauryn Hill and more.
I will discuss his current projects, ultimate career goals, and the state of Hip-Hop as he joins the show for the first 30 minutes. After the interview, I will discuss the following with my Show Legends, callers, and chat room participants:
If Healthcare was tied into the public school system, then would more parents be involved in preventing their children from dropping out? Could we kill two birds with one stone on a proposal as such?
