Join me as I have a chat with animator/writer, Leesa Dean, of Chill Town TV fame! We'll discuss her show and a number of other topics like:
What's the most difficult part of trying to establish an online following? How did you acquire the voice-over talents? Where do the plots for your episodes originate?
Born and raised in the Bronx, Leesa Dean attended LaGuardia HS of the Arts and Wesleyan University and has a BFA. Her underground comic book, Chilltown (Zeric Award winner for Best Indy Book), has been featured in The Source, Spin & Vibe Magazines as well as numerous national newspapers and radio.
Primarily a writer, she has sold a number of television scripts—including ones to HBO producers Two Oceans Entertainment and BET—but was always "in development." Frustrated, she taught herself how to animate five years ago and, solo guerrilla-style, completed three full series: Chilltown, The Danger Squad (launching late 2013) and Lele's Ratchet Advice Show.
Also being discussed on the show:
- Nightclubs and VIP services.
- What will be Obama's place in Black History? People love creating photo montages of him, MLK, Malcolm X, etc., but is he really on their level?
- Ray J's diss song towards Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
- All of these things and more on T2Q
"No experts. Just opinions."
