Should We Cancel "Cancel Culture"?

Is it time to rethink "cancel culture" before it divides society even further?

Watch the unedited YouTube Live video here.

Listen on your favorite podcasting platform here.

Duration: 89 minutes.

Whether you agree or not, these things seem to happen each day.  Celebs, cartoon characters, books and more get scrutinized.  Nothing is above being canceled.

Are you okay with this?

Singer/actor, Cher, recently said about George Floyd: "...I Kept Thinking …..Maybe If I’d Been There,…I Could’ve Helped."

Sounds like she was sypathizing with the situation.  Or was she?  Some say that she's posturing with the "white angel approach" and that her privilege allows her to think that she could have saved a poor black man's life.  Now this tweet has made its way to CNN and other news outlets.  Cher had to publicly apologize to keep from being canceled.

Cher is just one example of how cancel culture can sneak up on you like COVID.  Should it be that easy to run the risk of being canceled?  A tweet with no malice intent?  Should we ruin someone's livelihood a difference of opinion on politics?  What about something they said 10 years ago?  How about if they're accused (not charged or convicted) of something illegal?  Is it okay to effective take money out of their pockets or forever tarnish their reputation without evidence or a trial?

My Show Legends and I will discuss it all on this episode of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show.  "No experts.  Just opinions."

Show #929
