I question the word "Deserve"- How would you like a question like: do Jews deserve to total equality to Gentiles? Do Christians deserve to be equal to Muslims? Do women deserve to equal to men? Do green eyed people deserve total equality to brown and blue eyed people??
ReplyDeleteThe real question is whether all humans, regardless of religion, sexual preferences, gender, race or whatever, deserve an equal share of rights?
That's a great point, but some people think the use of that word is accurate. Personally, I consider everyone equal and believe in rights for all. However, we know that the U.S. is far from equal. I'm unsure if you listened to the show or not, but even some of my callers think that gays already have all of the rights that they "deserve." In fact, a better show to listen to is "Gay: Born That Way or Lifestyle." The dialogue from that show really touches on opinions from both sides of the fence.
